Dutch State Visit to Suriname - Day 2

On Tuesday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima spent their second day in Suriname.

They first visited Villa Zapakara, a foundation focused on young people and their development through art, culture, and education. 

Afterward, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the Natural Technology Institute to meet students from programs in electrical engineering and the offshore energy sector. They also met with students from Anton de Kom University Suriname who participated in the Food Systems and Innovation Challenge, an interdisciplinary competition organized by Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and the Netherlands Food Partnership.

In the afternoon, the Royal Couple visited the community center of the Latour Community Work Foundation.

They also visited the Fernandes family business bottling plant, where they toured the facilities and learned about the bottling process for Suriname's most famous drink.

In the evening, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima hosted a return reception for the Presidential Couple of Suriname. Sabrina Starke, a Dutch singer-songwriter of Surinamese descent, performed in collaboration with Surinamese artists.

Queen Maxima first wore a Natan dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Natan clutch. She paired the outfit with her Dinh Van bracelet and her Steltman ring.

Queen Maxima then wore her Dolce & Gabbana dress with her Gianvito Rossi sandals and her Glorinha Paranagua clutch. She paired the outfit with her Bettina Thomas hat and her Dinh Van bracelet.

In the evening, Queen Maxima wore her Jan Taminiau gown with her Gianvito Rossi sandals, her Christian Dior clutch, and her Dinh Van bracelet.
