Dutch State Visit to Suriname - Day 3

Dutch State Visit to Suriname - Day 3

On Wednesday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima spent their third day in Suriname. They first took part in a boat trip on the Suriname River and the Commewijne River to learn more about the importance of rivers and mangroves to Suriname from a spiritual, economic, and ecological perspective.

Afterward, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the village of Johanna Margaretha, where they met with the local community.

They also visited Frederiksdorp, a former coffee and cocoa plantation that is now an educational center that connects the past and present. They also met with young heritage professionals, including archaeologists and staff from the Surinamese National Archives, to hear more about their experiences and opinions on heritage cooperation between Suriname and the Netherlands.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima then hosted a reception for the Dutch community living and working in Suriname.

Queen Maxima first wore a Zimmermann dress with her Paul Andrew wedges and a Caterina Bertini bag. She paired the outfit with her 360Five Everyday hat, her Cartier sunglasses, and her Dinh Van bracelet.

Queen Maxima then wore her Natan dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps. She also wore her Dinh Van bracelet and her Patek Philippe watch.
