Vietnamese State Visit to Denmark - Day 1
On Monday, the President and the First Lady of Vietnam started a three-day State Visit to Denmark. They were officially welcomed by King Frederik and Queen Mary at Copenhagen Airport.

Afterward, the Presidential Couple and the Royal Couple then travelled to Christian VII's Palace, where an official reception took place.
In the afternoon, Queen Mary and First Lady Ngô Phương Ly visited the LIBRARY Rentemestervej to hear more about the library's work with children and school classes and to see the art project "Transformation" by Sofia Hagström Møller.
Afterward, Queen Mary and Mrs. Ngô Phương Ly toured the Court Theatre and watched a performance by dancers from the Royal Ballet.
In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a gala dinner for the Presidential Couple at Christiansborg Palace. Crown Prince Christian was also in attendance.
In his speech, King Frederik said: “Our family has many fond memories of Vietnam. My father, Prince Henrik, spent the first five years of his life in Hanoi, returned as a young man, and has carried Vietnam and the Vietnamese in his heart ever since. His stories sparked my imagination as a child, and I saw the fairytale land to the east before me: with lush rice fields, breathtaking mountain passes, and bustling cities inhabited by a proud and ambitious people. In 1997, I first saw the legends of my childhood, and in 2009, Queen Mary and I went on a state visit to Vietnam with my parents. Some things were as I had imagined, and much was completely different. Because development does not stand still in Vietnam. “
Queen Mary first wore her Lasse Spangenberg dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Anya Hindmarch bag. She paired the outfit with her Katrin Cecilia Jacobsen headband and her Francesca bracelet.
In the evening, Queen Mary wore her Jesper Høvring top with a navy velvet skirt, navy pumps, and her Prada clutch. She also wore a reworked version of Queen Alexandrine’s Sapphire Tiara.
On Monday, the President and First Lady of Singapore started a three-day State Visit to Sweden.
