The Princess of Wales visits Reggio Emilia - Day 1
On Wednesday, the Princess of Wales started a two-day visit to Reggio Emilia, Italy, with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The visit focused on Reggio Emilia’s internationally recognised approach to early childhood education, which places relationships, environment and community at the centre of a child’s development.
The Princess of Wales first met with the Mayor of Reggio Emilia, Marco Massari. During their meeting, she received the “Primo Tricolore,” the city’s highest honor, in recognition of her work with early childhood development.
Afterward, the Princess of Wales visited the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre, the principal hub for the promotion and teaching of the Reggio Emilia Approach, to hear more about the Reggio Emilia approach and the central role of ateliers and atelieristas.
She also met with educators from Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico who use the Reggio Emilia Approach and are taking part in one of the Centre’s study courses.
The Princess of Wales also visited the Scuola Comunale dell’Infanzia Anna Frank to see how the approach is used in this municipal pre‑school.
The Princess of Wales wore an Edeline Lee suit with her Holland Cooper bodysuit. She paired the outfit with her Ralph Lauren pumps and an Asprey London bag. She also wore her Annousha & Kiki McDonough earrings, her Monica Vinader necklace adorned with her Asprey London charms, and her Cartier watch.
