Queen Letizia attends XVII Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Health
On Thursday, Queen Letizia attended the XVII Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Health in Madrid. The Conference is part of the preparatory process for the XXX Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, which will be held in Madrid in November 2026.
Ahead of the opening ceremony of the conference, Queen Letizia took part in meetings with Ministers of Health of Ibero-American countries and representatives of organizations dedicated to rare diseases in the Ibero-American region.
In her speech, Queen Letizia said: “Taking care of your health is the most profitable investment you can make, and not just in economic terms, of course. It prevents medium- and long-term treatments that are not only expensive but also, whether due to disability or mortality, ultimately reduce the productive capacity of any economy. This is evident and easily verifiable with data. […] But taking care of our health is not only profitable, but also a human right, a matter of basic rights, dignity, and equity. Robust, innovative, universal, and equitably distributed healthcare systems contribute to building stronger societies. Health is a global issue, as the pandemic has demonstrated, and as hantavirus is demonstrating again.”
Queen Letizia wore her Moises Nieto dress with her Magrit pumps and her Magrit bag. She paired the outfit with her Dime Que Me Quieres earrings and her Coreterno ring.
