Queen Sofia visits New Orleans
This week, Queen Sofia made an official visit to New Orleans in the United States to attend events organized on the occasion of the III Symposium “America&Spain250”: “Spain and the American Revolution along the Mississippi River”.
On Thursday, Queen Sofia visited the exhibition “Spain, Spanish America, and the Atlantic World in an Age of Revolution” at the Doris Z. Stone Library at Tulane University.
On Friday, Queen Sofia inaugurated the III Symposium “America&Spain250”: “Spain and the American Revolution along the Mississippi River,” at the Cathedral of St. Louis.

She then visited the Cabildo Museum, the former seat of the Spanish Government in Louisiana, where she toured the exhibition “Gálvez and Louisiana in the American Revolution”.
Queen Sofia also received the keys to the city from the mayor of New Orleans, Helena Moreno.
On Saturday, Queen Sofia attended the presentations at the III Symposium “America&Spain250”: “Spain and the American Revolution along the Mississippi River” at the Williams Research Center.
She also attended the closing lecture by Richard Kagan of Johns Hopkins University, entitled “Erasure and Recovery”.

On Sunday, Queen Sofia laid a wreath at the statue of Bernardo de Gálvez at the intersection of Canal Street and Convention Center Boulevard.
She also visited the Chalmette High School Performing Arts Center in St. Bernard Parish, home to many descendants of Spaniards from the Canary Islands, now known as "isleños."
On Thursday, Queen Sofia wore a printed shirt with white trousers, white pumps, and her Coach bag.
On Friday, Queen Sofia wore a polka-dot shirt with white trousers, her Skechers sneakers, and her Coach bag.
On Saturday, Queen Sofia first wore her Escada blazer with a white top, white trousers, her Skechers sneakers, and her Coach bag.
In the evening, Queen Sofia wore a white jacket with her Escada trousers and Skechers sneakers.
On Sunday, Queen Sofia wore a white jacket with brown trousers, and her Skechers sneakers.
