Queen Sofia visits Miami
This past weekend, Queen Sofia attended engagements in Miami, Florida.
On Friday, Queen Sofia attended the “Florida, Cuba and the Caribbean in the American Revolution” conference as part of the America&Spain250 initiative. The initiative is a multi-year project dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and highlighting Spain's contributions to the American Revolution and the shared history between the two countries.
On Saturday, Queen Sofia took the time to meet with Spanish tennis players Carlos Alcaraz and Rafa Jodar who are currently taking part in the Miami Open.
On Saturday evening, Queen Sofia attended the Sophia Awards for Excellence ceremony, presented by the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute. The Sophia Award for Excellence recognizes people who have fostered international appreciation of Spain and the Americas.
On Sunday, Queen Sofia attended the signing of the agreement between the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute and the International Studies Foundation at the Residence of the Consul General of Spain in Miami. This agreement is part of the “America&Spain250” initiative.
On Friday, Queen Sofia wore a blue blazer with black trousers and her Carolina Herrera bag.
On Saturday evening, Queen Sofia wore an Alejandro de Miguel gown.
