Queen Sofia visits Washington D.C - Day 2
On Friday, Queen Sofia spent her second day in Washington D.C to attend the 2nd Symposium “America&Spain250”.
She first chaired the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute (QSSI) at the headquarters of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The meeting featured presentations on the Institute's recent activities, with particular emphasis on the America&Spain250 initiative.




Afterward, Queen Sofia toured the facilities of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), founded in 1890, whose mission is to preserve the memory and spirit of those who contributed to the United States' independence.



In the afternoon, Queen Sofia attended the first session of the America&Spain250 symposium entitled "Spain and the Birth of Democracy in the United States”. The symposium brought together leading international experts on the American War of Independence, who presented their latest research on the key role Spain played in the birth of the United States.


Queen Sofia first wore her Escada printed jacket with a white top, black trousers, and her Carolina Herrera bag.
In the afternoon, Queen Sofia wore her Alejandro de Miguel printed outfit and her Farah Asmar bag.
