Danish royals attend Opening of Parliament

Today, Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, and Princess Benedikte attended the opening of parliament at Christianborg Castle. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie didn’t attend as they are currently living in France.

The Opening of Parliament takes place each year on the first Tuesday of October in the Parliament at Christianborg Palace. The family has a passive role in this opening so they only listen to the speeches.

While Queen Margrethe wore purple and Princess Benedikte wore a dark green outfit, Crown Princess Mary chose to wear pink. Mary wore her Claes Iversen coat which she debuted in Latvia in December 2018. She paired the pink coat with her Sergio Rossi clutch and her Gianvito Rossi burgundy suede pumps. Her hat is by Susanne Juul.
