Regal Review: The Wedding of King Felipe and Queen Letizia
King Felipe and Queen Letizia are celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary today! Let’s take a look back at their wedding ceremony and the royal guests’ fashion.
After the wedding ceremony, the newly married couple appeared on the balcony to greet the crowds cheering for them!
A gala dinner was then hosted at the Royal Palace to celebrate the couple with their families and friends.
Letizia wore a stunning wedding gown by Manuel Pertegaz. This gown is made of bespoke natural silk woven with silver thread from a Valencian firm. It features a 4.5 meters train, long sleeves and a high collar. The cuffs, the collar of the gown feature silver and gold threads embroidered in the shape of fleur de lys flowers, clovers, strawberry tree fruits, and ears of wheat. The front of the gown and the hem of the train were also embroidered. Letizia wore the Prussian Tiara.
Queen Sofia wore a silk gown with a matching bag and a black mantilla.
Queen Margrethe wore a pink and red dress with a matching hat and a Chanel bag.
Queen Sonja wore a pink dress with a patterned jacket and a matching hat.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a pale pink dress with an Alberta Ferretti gold jacket. She paired the outfit with Prada pumps and a pink VBH clutch.
Princess Martha Louise channeled the Spanish flag wearing a yellow and red outfit by Tulip & Tatamo.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a blue embellished suit with matching blue accessories and a statement necklace.
Queen Silvia looked lovely wearing a blue dress with a matching embroidered blue jacket.
Crown Princess Victoria wore an orange dress with silver embellishments.
Princess Madeleine wore a pale green suit with embroideries and a high collar.
Princess Caroline wore a blue tweed suit by Chanel with matching accessories.
Then-Princess Maxima wore an embellished dress with a pink coat and a matching embellished bag.
Crown Princess Marie-Chantal wore a grey tweed coat over an ivory dress with matching accessories.
