Regal Review: Princess Estelle of Sweden's Christening

Eight years ago, two days after the christening of Princess Athena of Denmark, another royal christening took place, in Sweden this time. Princess Estelle was christened at the Royal Chapel with foreign royal guests in attendance.

Princess Estelle’s godparents are Prince Carl-Philip, Crown Princess Mary, Crown Prince Haakon, King Willem-Alexander, and Anna Westling Söderström. During the ceremony, King Carl Gustaf decorated Princess Estelle with the sash of the Order of the Seraphim.

Crown Princess Victoria wore a pale pink lace yoke fitted dress by Elie Saab with Roger Vivier sandals and a matching hat by Malinda Damgaard.

Princess Estelle wore the royal family's antique christening gown which was first worn by Prince Gustaf Adolf when he was christened in 1906. The gown had been worn by her grandfather and his sisters as well as her mother and her uncle and aunt before her.

Queen Silvia wore a lace peplum jacket by Valentino with a matching pink dress and nude clutch and shoes. She wore a white and pink pearl and flower fascinator.

Princess Madeleine wore a Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti dress and coat with a Diane Von Furstenberg clutch, Jimmy Choo pumps and a fascinator by Malinda Damgaard.

Princess Sofia - who was not yet married to Prince Carl-Philip - wore a shift dress by Tibi with nude platform pumps and a Diane von Furstenberg black clutch.

Queen Margrethe wore a white and blue printed outfit with a matching hat, a navy shawl and navy shoes and bag.

Crown Princess Mary wore a Strenesse gold chevron dress with a white bouclé coat. She paired the outfit with a Jane Taylor hat, a Chanel bag and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Queen Maxima wore a vibrant red skirt suit with red Miu Miu peep toes, a red turban and a VBH nude clutch.

Princess Martha Louise wore a pink skirt suit with a matching hat and Gina peep toes.

Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie - who was not yet married to Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume - wore a white ruffled dress that we believe could be from Natan with a grey coat, white peep toes pumps and a grey Fabienne Delvigne hat.

This concludes our busy Regal Review day but stay tuned for a wedding, birthday celebrations and another Swedish christening later this week!
