The Duchess of Cambridge Becomes Joint President of the Scouts

Today, it was announced that the Duchess of Cambridge became Joint President of the Scouts alongside the Duke of Kent.

To celebrate the announcement, the Duchess of Cambridge joined the 12th Northolt Scouts in London to meet volunteers and learn about how they supported people during the lockdown. She helped to make cards to send to care homes as well as whirlybird helicopters with cubs and took part in marshmallow toasting.

About becoming Joint President, the Duchess of Cambridge said: "For many children and young people, the Scout Association plays a key role as they build relationships and develop the skills they need to succeed in later life. When I volunteered with the Scouts on Anglesey eight years ago, I was struck by the huge impact the organization has on inspiring young people to support their communities and achieve their goals. I am delighted to be joining the Duke of Kent as Joint President of the Association and look forward to working with Scouts across the country as they strive to make a positive difference to our society."

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a new Massimo Dutti linen shirt with her Massimo Dutti trousers. She paired the outfit with a new Really Wild Clothing waistcoat and a new belt as well as her See by Chloé boots. She wore her All The Falling Stars earrings and her Spells of Love necklace. Kate also debuted a new Amaia face mask.
