King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visit Dubai WorldExpo

Today, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima spent their second and last day in the United Arab Emirates.

In Abu Dhabi, the royal couple visited Pure Harvest, a high-tech greenhouse in the middle of the desert.

Pure Harvest produces tomatoes, strawberries and lettuce in a sustainable way and King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima learned more about the production process.

Afterward, they traveled to Dubai to visit the Dubai World Expo 2020 as the Expo marked the Dutch National Day.

The World Expo aims to showcase what countries have to offer in terms of innovation and sustainability. The Dutch pavilion focuses on “uniting water, energy and food”, and shows the connection the Netherlands makes between water management, sustainable energy, and food security.

King Willem-Alexander made a speech to officially open the Dutch pavilion at the World Expo.

Then, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima toured the Dutch pavilion before visiting the UAE pavilion.

For the visit in Abu Dhabi, Queen Maxima wore her Natan green printed top and trousers with repeated wedges and her old Chanel sunglasses.

For the visit in Dubai, Queen Maxima wore her Natan embroidered dress with her Salvatore Ferragamo pumps and a repeated clutch. She also wore her Scully & Scully earrings and her Chanel sunglasses.
