King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attend celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Dutch Bach Society

This evening, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attended a concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Dutch Bach Society in Utrecht.

The Bach Society - a vocal-instrumental ensemble - was founded in 1921 and gives more than sixty concerts at home and abroad every year. It now aims to make Bach's music accessible to everyone via YouTube with the “All of Bach” project. The Bach Society also trains musicians and creates educational programs around Bach’s work.

During the concert, the Bach Society played various works including Die Kunst der Fuge under the direction of Shunsuke Sato. The Director of the Bach Society and the Mayor of Utrecht gave speeches. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima had the opportunity to meet with the musicians and members of the Bach Society after the concert.

Queen Maxima wore a matching beige set from Natan’s Spring 2017 collection and her Anna Cecere clutch.
