King Philippe and Queen Mathilde then visited the State Chancellery where King Philippe made a speech.
In the afternoon, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the chemical company BASF where they discussed the green transition of the heavy industry.
The Royal Couple concluded their first official day in Rhineland-Palatinate with a visit to the "Von Winning" wine estate to learn more about the major challenges climate change poses to viticulture.
