Crown Princess Victoria attends UN's Maritime Conference
On Tuesday, 28 June, Crown Princess Victoria attended the UN's Maritime Conference in Lisbon, Portugal.
This conference is a follow-up to the World Ocean Conference 2017, of which Sweden and Fiji were the initiators. The focus of the Maritime Conference is to look at solutions for sustainable management of the world's oceans. The conference also highlights the threats to marine health, ecology, the economy, and management. The threats are, for example, acidification, littering, pollution, illegal and unregulated fishing, as well as the loss of habitats and biodiversity. This year's maritime conference is co-organized by Kenya and Portugal.

Afterward, the Crown Princess took part in the side event Joining the dots between sustainable maritime logistics and planetary boundaries, where Minister for Development Aid Matilda Ernkrans gave an introductory speech. At the side event, Sweden and Finland showed how the countries are at the forefront when it comes to the development of sustainable shipping solutions.
