Dutch State Visit to Slovakia - Day 1
On Tuesday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima started a three-day State Visit to Slovakia.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima were first officially welcomed at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava by President Čaputová and her partner.
The Royal Couple signed the guest book and had a private meeting with the Presidential Couple.
Afterward, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima laid a wreath at the Gate of Freedom in Devín, a memorial to those killed between 1948 and 1989 attempting to cross the Iron Curtain.
In the afternoon, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, President Čaputová, and her partner walked through the city’s historical center.
The Royal Couple laid flowers at the memorial for investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová who were murdered in February 2018.
In the evening, President Čaputová hosted a State Dinner in honor of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima.
Queen Maxima first wore a Natan coat with a Natan dress and a Philip Treacy hat (with thanks to ModeKoninginMaxima). She paired the outfit with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Patek Philippe watch.
In the evening, Queen Maxima wore her Jan Taminiau gown with her Aquazzura sandals and her Christian Dior clutch.
