Belgian State Visit to France - Day 2
On Tuesday, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde spent their second day in France. They first attended an economic forum on the decarbonization of businesses.
Afterward, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde met with Paris’ Mayor Anne Hidalgo at the City Hall.
The Royal Couple was then joined by First Lady Brigitte Macron at the Belgian Embassy where they attended an official lunch with Belgian artists working in France.
In the afternoon, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited La Sorbonne University where they met with students and professors to discuss the European University Alliances. The initiative was launched by the European Commission to allow universities from different Member States to bring their courses closer together, to develop joint study programs, and to cooperate in research and innovation.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde also traveled to the Alexandre III bridge where they posed for photos with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
In the evening, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde hosted a reception at the Centre Pompidou to thank French authorities for their hospitality. They also met with the Belgian community living in France.
Queen Mathilde first wore a Natan Couture green outfit with her Christian Dior pumps, a Voort Studio handbag, and her Rolex watch. She paired the outfit with a Natan Couture headband (with thanks to GardeRobeRoyale).
In the evening, Queen Mathilde wore a Natan Couture gown with her Sterlé bracelet.
