King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visit Hogeland
On Tuesday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima paid a regional visit to Hogeland in the province of Groningen.
In Winsum, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima officially opened the Tirrel mini-community building which houses various organizations in the social domain, such as healthcare, education, and sports. They also visited the historic center of Winsum.
In Zoutkamp, the Royal Couple met with fishermen to discuss the difficulties in shrimp fishing as well as the possibilities and future prospects.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima then visited Noordpolderzijl where they walked through the salt marsh and along the sea wall with a ranger from Natuurmonumenten to learn more about the flora and fauna and the management of this area.
In Stedum, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited a dairy farm where they met farmers from the municipalities of Eemsdelta and Het Hogeland to discuss the current situation and the future of agriculture in the region.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima ended their regional visit in Bedum where they met residents to learn more about the central function of Bedum and their experiences with and the consequences of the municipal reorganization in 2019.
Queen Maxima wore her Elie Saab dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Chanel sunglasses. She also wore her Hogan sneakers for part of the visit.
