Queen Silvia visits Gothenburg
On Thursday, Queen Silvia attended several engagements in Gothenburg. She first attended a roundtable discussion focusing on mental health in children and young people. The university hosted the discussion as part of their Queen Silvia's Professorship in Global Child and Adolescent Health with a focus on mental health.
In her speech, Queen Silvia said: “The Convention on the Rights of the Child is more than a legal document. It is a moral compass. It reminds us that children are individuals with their own rights, not merely dependents on adults. It calls on us to ensure that their voices are heard, that their best interests guide every decision, and that their health and well-being are protected. This obligation applies everywhere and always – whether in times of peace or in times of war. I am convinced that strengthening research on how to put the Convention into practice is one of the most effective ways to build a better future for all children.”
Afterward, Queen Silvia visited the Elevator Emergency School. The emergency school accepts students who temporarily need a different school situation than their regular school.
Queen Silvia wore her Maknam jacket with her Vesna W blouse and beige trousers. She paired the outfit with her Chanel flats and her Louis Vuitton bag. She also wore her Cartier and Engelbert Stockholm bracelets.
