Queen Mary visits Kenya - Day 2

On Thursday, Queen Mary spent her second day in Kenya in her capacity as Patron of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). She first visited the Dandora landfill, as Denmark has a desire to contribute to better and more circular waste management in the country.

Afterward, Queen Mary met with the President of Kenya, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, at the UN headquarters in Nairobi.

Queen Mary then took part in the high-level segment of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA). In her opening speech, she said: “The challenges posed by climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution are becoming increasingly severe. However, these challenges are not beyond our reach. By acting effectively, swiftly and collaboratively, governments, the private sector, research and educational institutions and communities from all over the world can build a safer, more equitable and resilient world for all.”

In the evening, Queen Mary took part in an official reception hosted by the Danish Embassy in Kenya.

Queen Mary first wore a Columbia shirt with her Columbia trousers.

Queen Mary then wore her Prada dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Prada bag. She paired the outfit with her Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and bracelets by Dulong Fine Jewelry and Rebekka Notkin. Later in the day, she changed into her Prada flats.

In the evening, Queen Mary wore her Jesper Høvring blouse with a repeated skirt and her Mulberry clutch. She also wore Louise Grønlykke earrings.
