King Harald and Queen Sonja visit Svalbard - Day 3
On Monday, King Harald and Queen Sonja spent their third day in Svalbard. They visited Longyearbyen, where they met with Norway's last coal miners. Longyearbyen’s mine will close on June 30th, marking the end of this chapter of Norwegian industrial history.
Afterward, King Harald and Queen Sonja attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of Gruvebusen – in memory of the 124 people who died in mining for Store Norske from 1916.
Queen Sonja first wore a Helly Hansen jacket with her Norrøna trousers.
Afterwards, Queen Sonja wore her Hermes coat.
