Queen Letizia attends World Cancer Research Day event
On Tuesday, Queen Letizia marked World Cancer Research Day in Salamanca as Permanent Honorary President of the Spanish Association Against Cancer and the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
She first visited the Cancer Research Center which aims to integrate competitive and excellent cancer research at the basic, clinical, and applied or translational levels.
Afterward, Queen Letizia attended the official event marking World Cancer Research Day hosted at the University of Salamanca.
In her speech, Queen Letizia said:” We know the disease continues today to spread faster than our knowledge. That is why equitable and secure funding remains vital, ensuring fairness and transparency both in the distribution of resources and in the access to results; as well as in guaranteeing the basic right to healthcare. It is therefore more than worthy to continue investing in research, in technology, in services and, above all, in talent, without forgetting how crucial it is to invest in prevention!”
Queen Letizia wore her Massimo Dutti jacket with her Hugo Boss trousers and her Sézane shoes. She paired the outfit with her Coreterno ring.
