Queen Mathilde's Economic Mission to Türkiye - Day 2
On Monday, Queen Mathilde spent her second day in Istanbul, Türkiye, where she is leading an economic mission with a Belgian delegation.
Queen Mathilde first attended a breakfast meeting with Belgian businesses with a success story on the Turkish market.
Afterward, Queen Mathilde met with Turkish Minister for Trade, Ömer Bolat, with whom she attended the opening session of this mission.
Queen Mathilde then met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife, Emine Erdoğan
Queen Mathilde and the delegation also visited the Naval Museum where they attended an event focused on the importance of critical infrastructure for the economy in these changing geopolitical times and on innovation and sustainability in the logistics sector.
Queen Mathilde also attended an official lunch with Belgian institutional actors, Turkish business leaders, and sector-specific stakeholders.
In the afternoon, Queen Mathilde then visited the Istanbul Chamber of Industry to attend a panel discussion on the business world and entrepreneurship being drivers of women’s empowerment.
Queen Mathilde also attended the signing of 27 agreements and contracts between Belgian and Turkish partners.
In the evening, Queen Mathilde attended the official Belgian reception. In her speech, she said: “Beyond the figures and treaties, it is the spirit of friendship that truly defines us. It is seen in our vibrant cultural and academic exchanges, as well as in the thriving tourism between our countries. Türkiye stands as a symbol of hospitality and quality. Let us then work together and look forward to a future where our partnership continues to reach new heights.”
Queen Mathilde first wore her Natan Couture white dress with her Christian Dior pumps and bag. She paired the outfit with her Carolina Herrera earrings, her Christine Bekaert cuff, and her Rolex watch. She also wore her Cartier glasses.
