Regal Review: King Carl Gustaf's 70th Birthday Celebrations
In 2016, King Carl Gustaf celebrated his 70th birthday! Our Regal Review post today looks at the several events that were organized to celebrate the King! On April 29th, a concert was organized at the Nordic Museum with performances by the Royal Swedish Opera.
Queen Silvia wore a blue lace gown with a matching navy clutch and the Leuchtenberg Sapphire Earrings and Brooch.
Crown Princess Victoria wore a black top and embroidered skirt by H&M Conscious. She also carried a bespoke H&M conscious clutch and she wore an H&M x Balmain necklace. She wore Dolce & Gabbana pumps.
Princess Madeleine wore a white coat with a Erdem blue lace dress and Marchesa black lace and pearl pumps as well as her Bottega Veneta black clutch.
On April 30th, the Swedish royal family and many foreign royal guests attended a Te Deum and a ceremony outside the Royal Palace to celebrate King Carl Gustaf’s 70th birthday! Afterward, the guests attended a lunch reception at Stockholm’s City Hall.
Queen Silvia wore a pink Camilla Thulin coat with burgundy Manolo Blahnik pumps, a burgundy clutch, and a pink hat.
Crown Princess Victoria wore a white Ida Sjostedt coat with a Dolce & Gabbana striped dress underneath. She paired the outfit with Aquatalia black pumps and her Nancy Gonzalez black clutch. She wore her Kreuger earrings and a Philip Treacy hat.
Princess Estelle wore a lovely white outfit by Charabia.
Princess Sofia wore a white By Malene Birger coat with a pink Hugo Boss dress. She wore Stinaa.J python pumps and a Vintage Styler clutch.
Princess Madeleine wore a pink Alexander McQueen coat with a Giambattista Valli printed dress. She paired the outfit with Gianvito Rossi black suede pumps, her Bottega Veneta clutch and a Philip Treacy hat.
Queen Margrethe wore a teal coat with a matching hat and a light blue bag.
Queen Sofia wore a lime green printed coat and dress with metallic bag and shoes.
Princess Benedikte wore a blue coat with brown accessories.
Crown Princess Mary wore a camel Oscar de la Renta coat over her white Prada dress. She wore Christian Louboutin pumps, a Carlend Copenhagen purple clutch and a matching purple Jane Taylor pillbox hat.
Princess Martha Louise wore a gold dress by MagMaLou with embellished Gina peep-toes pumps and a TSH fascinator.
In the evening, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a gala dinner at the Royal Palace to end the festivities!
Queen Silvia wore a red embellished gown with the Connaught Diamond tiara.
Crown Princess Victoria wore an Elie Saab lace gown with Elie Saab lace-up sandals and an Elie Saab gold clutch. She wore the Laurel Wreath Tiara.
Princess Madeleine wore Elie Saab as well, repeating the gown she debuted at her pre-wedding dinner in 2013. She wore her modern fringe tiara and earrings from the Bernadotte collection.
Queen Margrethe wore one of her favorite Brigitte Thaulow gowns with the Baden Palmette Tiara.
Princess Benedikte wore her pink Wichmann Couture with Queen Sofia's Star and Pearl Tiara.
Crown Princess Mary wore a custom made Ole Yde floral gown with her Gianvito Rossi yellow suede pumps and her YSL Muse yellow satin clutch. She didn’t wear a tiara but she wore a Ole Lynggaard hair ornament.
Princess Martha Louise wore a one-shoulder gown by TSH with a silver clutch and King Olav's Gift Tiara.
