Grand Duchess Maria Teresa christens "Stand Speak Rise Up!" Rose
On Monday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the opening of the Roseraie at Parc Laval as well as the christening of the Stand Speak Rise Up! white rose.
The white rose was created in honor of the Stand Speak Rise Up! association which Grand Duchess Maria Teresa created to support victims of sexual violence in war zones.
In her speech, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa said: “The rose symbolizes the beauty and resilience of survivors, of women whose bodies and lives have been deeply bruised by the violence they have suffered, but who find the strength to be reborn and to fight, (…) Offering this rose to survivors is a promise that will be renewed with each bloom: it will evoke this promise to see survivors as beautiful, worthy and courageous women. (…) Let's act together to put an end to rape as a weapon of war!”
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a printed top with white trousers, her Gianvito Rossi sandals, and a Loewe bag. She paired the outfit with her Isabel Marant earrings, her Annelise Michelson bracelet, and Charlotte Chesnais rings.
