British and Foreign Royal Families bid Farewell to Her Majesty The Queen

On Monday, the British Royal Family was joined by members of Foreign Royal Families and hundreds of guests from all around the world to bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth II.

On Sunday evening, Buckingham Palace had shared a stunning portrait of the Queen taken this Spring.

On Monday morning, a procession took place from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey with King Charles leading members of his family behind the Queen’s coffin.

The State Funeral took place at Westminster Abbey and the service was conducted by The Dean of Westminster and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. A two-minute silence was observed at the end of the service.

Afterward, another procession led the Queen’s coffin through the Mall (passing one last time in front of Buckingham Palace) to Wellington Arch. From there, the Queen’s coffin was transferred into the State Hearse to travel to Windsor.

The final procession led the Queen’s coffin through the Long Walk to Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel.

At St George’s Chapel, a Committal Service was conducted by the Dean of Windsor. At the end of the service, The Imperial State Crown, the Sceptre, and the Orb were removed from the coffin before it was lowered into the Royal Vault.

In the evening, following a private burial, Buckingham Palace released a photo of Queen Elizabeth II taken at Balmoral in 1971 with the caption: “‘May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest.’ In loving memory of Her Majesty The Queen.“.
