King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visit Uppsala County
On Thursday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited Uppsala County as part of King Carl-Gustaf’s Jubilee celebrations.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia were received by Governor Stefan Attefall with his wife Cecilia Attefall.
The Royal Couple first visited the Uppland Museum where they toured the Royal Visit – Uppland & the King exhibition.
Afterward, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended a jubilee program at St. Erik's Square.
In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “We are standing here on St. Erik's square, probably a medieval trading place from the beginning and now framed by buildings from bygone times. And that's the way it is, we live our modern lives but surrounded by history. You have to know and respect your history in order to understand your present, but also to be able to look forward. I want to say a big and warm thank you to all of you who gathered today to celebrate with us. The Queen and I are very pleased to see you all here!”
The Royal Couple then traveled in a horse-drawn cortege from St. Erik's Square to Uppsala Castle's courtyard.
At Uppsala Castle, they attended an official lunch hosted by the Governor and his wife.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also attended a tree-planting ceremony in the Castle’s park. King Carl Gustaf put soil on the tree using a 3D-printed shovel.
Queen Silvia wore a Zara blazer with a white shirt, black trousers, black shoes, and her Hermes bag.
