Queen Letizia attends closing ceremony of the XVI Call for Social Projects
On Wednesday, Queen Letizia attended the closing ceremony of the XVI Call for Social Projects organized by the Santander Bank in Madrid.
Each year, Santander Bank donates money to several social projects from their “Euros from your Payroll” program in which for every euro the employees of the banks donate, the entity contributes another with the aim of promoting projects that improve society. This year, the award ceremony honored sixteen projects in five categories: Senior Citizens, International Cooperation, Disability, Social Inclusion, and Health.
In her speech, Queen Letizia said: “Thank you, thank you to all of you who think of others, to those who get involved so that the change is real, so that a person with Down syndrome achieves a stable job, so that those who suffer from ALS have hope and there is research, more research, so that a vulnerable young person feels welcomed, so that a child with a neurological disease has the support, all the support they need at school, so that a girl who has survived cancer does not spend the rest of her life also carrying the consequences that this cancer may have had, so that a mother or a caregiver, often both at the same time, has a break, so that an elderly man or woman feels that they are not alone and that they are not Is abandoned. Thank you.”
