King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visit Central Limburg
On Tuesday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima made a regional visit to Central Limburg.
They first visited Wessem where they met with representatives of several associations to discuss the importance of associational life for the quality of life and the ways in which new generations are involved.
Afterward, the Royal Couple visited Illikhoven. This is the narrowest part of the Netherlands situated between Belgium and Germany. They spoke with the authorities about cross-border cooperation in the fields of safety, water management, and livability, as well as cooperation in the areas of language, culture, and traditions.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima also visited Lilbosch Abbey and its monastery farm to hear about how the region is working on sustainable agriculture and regional product.
The Royal Couple also visited roller coaster manufacturer Vekoma in Vlodrop. They toured the company to learn more about the entire process of design, engineering, and production of attractions.
In Roermond, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima talked with residents about democracy and participation before visiting the De Weerstand area where a former industrial site is being developed into a residential and living environment.
Queen Maxima wore her Natan Couture dress with her Natan pumps and her Santesteban clutch.
