Regal Review: 2017 Spanish State Visit to the UK - Day 3

On 14 July 2017, King Felipe and Queen Letizia spent their last day in the United Kingdom.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia first bade farewell to Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburg at Buckingham Palace.

Then, the royal couple visited the Francis Crick Institute, a biomedical research center that houses the largest individual biomedical laboratory in Europe, with the Duke of York. During their visit, they visited the regulatory genomics laboratory, the cell cycle laboratory and they met with representatives of the Association of Spanish Scientists in the United Kingdom.

Afterward, King Felipe and Queen Letizia traveled to Oxford where they first visited the Weston Library to see a manuscript of the Codex Mendoza, some originals of the different editions of the 12th century of the Magna Carta, ratified by King Juan after negotiations with the body of the British nobility; and an original copy of the first edition of Don Quixote.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia ended their state visit at the University of Oxford where they had lunch.

After the lunch, King Felipe and Queen Letizia met Spanish citizens studying or working at Exeter College before flying back to Spain.

Queen Letizia wore a white asymmetric neckline blouse with a Topshop pleated midi skirt. She paired the outfit with her Lodi burgundy suede pumps and a Suma Cruz clutch which was made especially for her.
