Queen Mary visits Nigeria

This week, Queen Mary spent two days in Nigeria as Patron of the United Nations Population Fund and the Danish NGO Maternity Foundation.

On Tuesday, Queen Mary first attended the 10 Million Safer Births Initiative event. The initiative is based on a concrete and ambitious goal of providing up to 10 million women with access to safer childbirth by the end of 2030 across sub-Saharan Africa. It is supported by the UNPFA and the Maternity Foundation.

During the event, Queen Mary made a speech and announced she had become the Patron of the Initiative for the next three years.

Queen Mary also toured the Maitama District Hospital where she spent time with the staff and new mothers.

Afterward, Queen Mary met with the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

In the evening, Queen Mary attended a reception held at The Nordic Abuja hotel.

On Wednesday, Queen Mary spent the day in Lagos, where she first visited MADHouse (Make a Difference House), which is part of the University of Lagos. During her visit, Queen Mary met young entrepreneurs.

Afterward, Queen Mary visited the port’s area where she took part in a meeting with a number of Danish business representatives in Nigeria.

On Wednesday evening, Queen Mary attended an official dinner with Nigerian leaders in the fields of tech, business, fashion, culture, and the arts.

On Tuesday, Queen Mary first wore her LaDoubleJ dress with her Max Mara belt, her Malone Souliers pumps, and Dulong Fine Jewelry jewels.

Queen Mary then wore her Jesper Hovring blouse with her Paul & Joe skirt and her Gianvito Rossi pumps. She paired the outfit with her Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings and her Louis Grønlykke necklace.

In the evening, Queen Mary wore her Altuzarra printed dress with her Isabel Marant belt and Malone Souliers pumps. She paired the outfit with repeated earrings, her Louise Grønlykke necklace, and an Ellen Hunter hair comb.

On Wednesday, Queen Mary wore her Ralph Lauren jacket with a ME and EM printed dress, her Max Mara belt, her Michel Vivien sandals, and her Ralph Lauren bag. She also wore her Ray-Ban sunglasses, her Rebekka Notkin bracelet, and her Louise Grønlykke necklace.

On Wednesday evening, Queen Mary wore a Mikael Aghal gown with her Serpui clutch.
