The Duchess of Edinburgh visits Kenya - Day 3
On Thursday, the Duchess of Edinburgh spent her last day in Kenya, attending engagements in Wajir County.
She first met with Deputy County Commissioner Musa Okang'o on her arrival at Wajir County Airport.
Afterward, the Duchess of Edinburgh met with Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi Jiir, at the Governor's Office in Wajir. The meeting focused on the challenges of climate change in the region and the UK's partnership, which is helping promote community-level initiatives to address the root causes of instability and promote cohesion.
The Duchess of Edinburgh then met with women peacebuilders working with the UK's Deris Wanaag (Good Neighbourliness) and REINVENT programmes in Wajir.
She then visited the Hodhan Business Group, a women-led and owned group supported by the UK-funded Kuza Jamii programme. The Duchess of Edinburgh used MPESA, a mobile money transfer and payment service established through funding from the UK, to purchase a tea flask from the Business Group's shop, before joining a meeting of the Village Savings and Loan Association.
She then laid wreaths at the graves of two British Soldiers in the world's smallest Commonwealth War Cemetery in Wajir.
In the evening, the Duchess of Edinburgh attended a dinner with female leaders from the Government of Kenya at the Residence of the British High Commissioner in Nairobi.
The Duchess of Edinburgh first wore a Lexy London dress with her Penelope Chilvers wedges and her Sophie Habsburg clutch. She paired the outfit with her Mara Moon earrings, her Giulia Barela ring, and her Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses.
In the evening, the Duchess of Edinburgh wore a Max Mara printed dress with her Amina Muaddi pumps.
